To make these skirts we took a piece of muslin and dyed it with a type of ginger root. Then carved a stamp out of a piece of bamboo to stamp the pattern. Which is one row for every year that you have danced with Maka's Halau. The dye for the stamp was made out of seeds that were crushed with a few other things and water. It was quite a project and would never have been done or looked so nice if it wasn't for our friend Nick. He took over for a few of us. :)
The tent is red so the pictures didn't turn out very well of her performing. Hopefully next year we will get a white one. :)

Loved seeing it last year. So sad to miss it this year. Maybe Next year! She does shine on stage (and every where else as well).

bet! your little girl is all grown up. i can't believe how old she is looking. it's crazy. even her friends look older. but she looks so beautiful, hu?! and let's talk about that skirt. i was dying and getting overwhelmed just thinking about making it. you go, girl!!! that's amazing!
